UGC Nepal Call Grant Proposal 2080 – The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, Nepal is dedicated to elevating the standards of higher education in Nepal. Recognizing the essential role that education plays in nation-building, UGC has consistently developed programs that enhance the administrative, physical, and research capacities of higher educational institutions

Key Endeavours of UGC Nepal

  • Development of Facilities: Administrative and physical infrastructure development in higher educational institutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Implementation of quality assurance, accreditation programs, and improvement schemes for teachers, staff, and students.
  • Research: Fostering a research culture and developing infrastructure for research pursuits.
  • Scholarships & Training: Offering scholarships, research aid, capacity-building programs, and training for students and staff.

Proposal Submission Instructions

  • Stakeholders are to submit distinct applications/proposals for the programs highlighted below, conforming to the format delineated in the Commission’s Program Procedures, 2080.

  • Proposals received post-deadline or improperly will not be considered. Misrepresentation of information will lead to cancellation and future subsidy denial.

Grant Categories

1. Regular Grant for Community Campuses:

  • Must complete the Online Data form on ugc.nitc.gov.np:81 prior to application submission. New campuses can retrieve login credentials from the grant determination branch.
  • Mandatorily include National Commercial Bank Account No., Contact No., and campus email.

Minimum Student Criteria

  1. Himalayan district: 50 students
  2. Hilly district: 75 students
  3. Terai district: 100 students
  4. Kathmandu Valley: 125 students

2. Physical Facility Development Grant

  • Objective: Construction of buildings, acquisition of books, furniture, and equipment, and development structures for extracurricular activities.

Student Minimums for building construction:

  1. Himalayan districts: 60 students
  2. Hilly and Terai/inner Madhesh districts: 100 students
  3. Kathmandu Valley: 140 students
  4. Campuses can choose a maximum of 2 titles based on preference.
  5. First-time applicants are prioritized for the extracurricular activities grant.

3. Special Grant for Community Campuses:

  • Applicable for campuses that have run for two years, have not received the regular grant.

Student Minimums:

  1. Himalayan district: 50 students
  2. Hilly district: 75 students
  3. Terai district: 100 students
  4. Kathmandu Valley: 125 students

  • Bagmati and Gandaki provinces: 2080/8/19 (Office Hours)
  • Koshi, Madhesh, and Lumbini provinces: 2080/8/24 (Office Hours)
