Eigibility Criteria

Under-Graduate Program

B.Pharm

  • Minimum GPA of 3.00 in both SSC and HSC Examinations or
  • Candidates must have passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level and best two subjects in ‘A’ Level will be considered. Out of these seven subjects, a candidate must have at least 4B’s or GPA of 4.00 in the four subjects and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 in the remaining three subjects. (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1. or
  • American High School Diploma, AND
  • Acceptable EWU Admission Test Score
  • Total GPA of 5.00 in both SSC and HSC Examinations for the children of Freedom Fighter.
  • The final selection of candidates for admission in the Undergraduate Programs at EWU will be based on the Admission Test scores obtained with 75% from admission test, 10% from SSC/O-level and 15% from HSC/A-level.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) Program

  • Candidate must have a minimum aggregate GPA 6.50 in SSC/ O level or equivalent and HSC/ A level or equivalent examinations (in a total scale of 10).
  • Candidate must pass SSC/ O level or recognized equivalents and HSC/ A level or recognized equivalents in Science Group and obtain a minimum GPA 3.0 (in a scale of 5) without any additional subject.
  • Candidate must pass HSC/ A level or recognized equivalent examination with a minimum GPA 3.0 in Chemistry and Biology separately and a minimum GPA 2.0 in Mathematics (in a scale of 5).
  • Candidate must pass HSC/ A level or recognized equivalent examination in current year or one previous year.
  • Foreign students must have passed 12 education years and got same grades in equivalent examinations from foreign recognized institutions.
  • The student must pass HSC/ “A” level or recognized equivalents with the following science subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
  • Admission should be based on competitive written test evaluations. In addition to written test, an oral test may be taken for further assessment. (Recognized equivalents mean Education Board, Madrasah Board and Bangladesh Technical Education Board)

Post-Graduate Programs

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

  • Admission to the MBA program is selective. To apply for admission, students must fulfill the criteria outlined below:
  • Successful completion of at least a Bachelor degree from a reputed university, and
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Examinations. or
  • Candidates must have passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level and best two subjects in ‘A’ Level will be considered. Out of these seven subjects, a candidate must have at least 4B’s or GPA of 4.00 in the four subjects and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 in the remaining three subjects. (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1)

Master of Business Administration (Executive Program)

  • Admission to the MBA (Executive) program is selective. To apply for admission, students must fulfill the criteria outlined below:
  • Successful completion of at least a Bachelor degree from a reputed university, and
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Examinations. or
  • Candidates must have passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level and best two subjects in ‘A’ Level will be considered. Out of these seven subjects, a candidate must have at least 4B’s or GPA of 4.00 in the four subjects and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 in the remaining three subjects. (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1)

Master in Development Studies (MDS)

  • Admission to the MDS program is selective. To apply for admission, students must fulfill the criteria outlined below.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Examinations. or
  • Candidates must have passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level and best two subjects in ‘A’ Level will be considered. Out of these seven subjects, a candidate must have at least 4B’s or GPA of 4.00 in the four subjects and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 in the remaining three subjects. (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1)

MSS in Economics

  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Examinations. or
  • Candidates must have passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level and best two subjects in ‘A’ Level will be considered. Out of these seven subjects, a candidate must have at least 4B’s or GPA of 4.00 in the four subjects and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 in the remaining three subjects. (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1)

Master of Science (M.S.) Program in Applied Statistics

  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Examinations. or
  • Candidates must have passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level and best two subjects in ‘A’ Level will be considered. Out of these seven subjects, a candidate must have at least 4B’s or GPA of 4.00 in the four subjects and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 in the remaining three subjects. (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1)

MS in Telecommunications Engineering

  • Applicants with four years undergraduate B.Sc. degree in any of the following fields:
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Examinations. or
  • Candidates must have passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level and best two subjects in ‘A’ Level will be considered. Out of these seven subjects, a candidate must have at least 4B’s or GPA of 4.00 in the four subjects and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 in the remaining three subjects. (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1)

Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering (MS in CSE)

  • The Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering (MS in CSE) program is organized into four major areas:
  • Data Science
  • Software Engineering
  • Networking
  • Systems Engineering

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Examinations. or
  • Candidates must have passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level and best two subjects in ‘A’ Level will be considered. Out of these seven subjects, a candidate must have at least 4B’s or GPA of 4.00 in the four subjects and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 in the remaining three subjects. (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1).
  • MS in Applied Physics & Electronics
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Examinations or
  • Candidates must have passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level and best two subjects in ‘A’ Level will be considered

MA in English (36 Credits)

  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Examinations or
  • Candidates must have passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level and best two subjects in ‘A’ Level will be considered. Out of these seven subjects, a candidate must have at least 4B’s or GPA of 4.00 in the four subjects and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 in the remaining three subjects. (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1)

MA in ELT

  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Examinations or
  • Candidates must have passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level and best two subjects in ‘A’ Level will be considered. Out of these seven subjects, a candidate must have at least 4B’s or GPA of 4.00 in the four subjects and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 in the remaining three subjects. (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1)

MPRHGD

  • A four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a UGC recognized university/college in any social science and science subjects (anthropology, economics, geography, sociology, social work, psychology, population studies, health sciences/management, medicine & engineering). Anyone with a Master’s degree from a recognized university in any other subject with at least two years of experience in population & health related fields.

MPharm in Clinical Pharmacy & Molecular Pharmacology

  • Must have Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from a recognized university with minimum CGPA 2.50.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50/2nd Division in both SSC & HSC exams. (If any candidate obtains GPA 2.00 in SSC/HSC exams, he/she needs to have total GPA of 6.00 in both exams. In case of the wards of freedom fighter, the total GPA reputed to be 5.00.)
  • Master of Laws (LLM)
  • Candidates must have a 4 years LL.B. degree/equivalent discipline with a minimum CGPA of 2.5/2nd Class from any recognized institution. They must qualify admission test requirements set by the University.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in both SSC and HSC examinations, or candidates must have passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level and best two subjects in ‘A’ Level will be considered.

Tuition Fee: Per Credit

UG Program

  • Lab Fee: 2500/- per semester for CSE, CSC, ICE, ETE & EEE programs, and Tk. 1,000/- per semester for all other programs.
  • Lab fee for B.Sc. in Civil Engineering: Tk. 2,650/- per semester
  • Lab fee for Bachelor of Pharmacy: Tk. 3,750/- per semester
  • Student Activity Fee: student activities fee is Tk. 765/- per semester for B.Pharm and all other departments Tk. 510/- per semester.

Document Verification Fee

  • Students will pay the document verification fee (if applicable) for the verification of their previous academic documents.

How to Apply?

  • Before start please read the Instructions and Admission Eligibility carefully.
  • You will require a passport size colored photographs to be uploaded later.
  • You can pay application fee online using BKash. (Online processing fee will be charged.)
  • You/somebody on your behalf can also deposit the application fee in cash at East West University Admission office, Aftabnagar, Dhaka.

Instructions and guidelines for submitting an Online Admission Form

  • Necessary directions regarding the EWU admission have been provided at EWU website (http://www.ewubd.edu) or (http://admission.ewubd.edu)
  • The qualifications and requirements for applying in Undergraduate and Graduate programs are explained at EWU website in details. The procedure and Guidelines for submitting Online Admission Form are given below:

Guidelines for Submitting Online Admission Form

  • Use any (for best result Google Chrome or Mozila Firefox can be used) web browser to go to EWU website (http://www.ewubd.edu) OR directly to http:// admission.ewubd.edu to get the EWU Online Admission Form.
  • A new applicant is to click “Create New Applicant” and then choose a program he/she wants to apply by clicking “Click here to apply”. After selecting a program, applicants cannot change the program.
  • After selecting a Program, applicant will get option to fill in his/her Name, Mobile Number and email address (Optional). After filling the above fields a “EWU Login ID” will be displayed on the next screen. Applicant should note down the “EWU Login ID” (Example 163354131) as the applicant will require it for payment and further login. Applicant can also download/print the pay slip for payment. This “EWU Login ID” is also sent to the applicants through email.
  • The Application Fee is Tk-1,200/-(Non Refundable) is to be paid in cash at EWU Admission Office.
  • You can pay application fee online using BKash. (Online processing fee will be charged.)
  • After clearing the payment the Applicant will put the EWU Login ID and the Mobile Number, to “SIGN IN”. Now the applicant is eligible to fill in and submit the Online Admission Form.
  • Applicant must fill in the Online Admission Form carefully. The fields which are indicated with Star Marks (*) are mandatory to fill in.
  • Applicant is responsible for the correctness of the information he/she has provided. If any false/wrong information is detected any time, the Application as well as the Admission (if qualified) of the candidate will be cancelled.
  • Scanned copy of the applicant’s recent (Not older than six months) Passport Size Colored Photograph is required to be uploaded with the Online Admission Form (*.jpg with Max size of 250Kb).
  • Applicant may save the form for further review/edit. Applicant may also Preview the filled in form for download in PDF format. It is strongly recommended that the applicants preview the Online Admission Forms before submission. Once the applicant submits the form he/she will have no access to that form for editing. The applicant will get the appropriate buttons below the form <Save><Submit form><Preview>.
  • After successful submission of the Online Admission Form, applicant will get the following message “Your form has been submitted successfully. For obtaining the Admit Card click on the Admit Card”.
  • Applicants must take a clear print of the Admit Card. Applicants can print/download the Admit Card any time instantly by logging in the applicants unique EWU Login ID and the Mobile Number. Without the Admit Card applicants will not be allowed to appear the Admission Test.
  • Applicants must bring their original copy of HSC/Equivalent registration card/A-Level statement of entry during admission test as well as during admission (if qualified).
  • Regarding admission the decision of EWU Admission committee shall be final.
